And I Am Back...

Okay, things got a little crazy there for a while. The last couple of weeks of class were a bit insane, and I was starting to get a little freaked out by some of the posts to my blog entries... While I love being told how people love my writing style, the similarity of the postings makes me doubt the sincerity of the sentiment... and makes me wonder if I'm in some political office and people are telling me how the "really feel" by copying and pasting e-mail content to me. It's strange.

I guess it's a way to increase readership or whatever, and that's great... but even the blogs I like to read are blogs I seldom read. Part of it is my crazy life, and the other part of it is... the rest of my crazy life, I guess.

Anyway, the facebook folks know this, but I'll share for the rest of you: I had Binx in my care for several days. I am pretty sure he's no worse for having experienced this. Jordan came over last weekend and we stayed up too late playing Super Mario Brothers Wii the night before church.

Oh, and I got an A- in that class that I was having such a frustrating time with. A smaller part of my frustration comes from the style of writing. I hate reading that sort of writing, so I loathe writing it. I don't get the style, anyway. Why do you want to make getting information such a horrible freakin' chore?

I just deleted the rest of that tirade. Gone... mourn it, yet be thankful.

So that's my life. I'll try to get back to daily posts if for no other reason than to bother people.

Oh, and I've yet to hear from the sleep study folks. I think I need to make a phone call tomorrow, eh?

Glad you're back...I was missing your posts! Congratulations on your A- in the class. I agree--most of the "academic writing style" is not written with real thought towards the reader, is it? Bleah...but, you jump through the grad school hoops and get on with your life.

Take it easy, take a breather... And write when you can. We're out here, we're reading!

You should not get "freaked" out...after all, if you want a personal blog do it on FB with just people who know you commenting.

Anyway, if it freaks you out, I'll tone it down. But I do owe you a thank you though because it is through yor blog that I "met" ROBIN and that has been really enjoyable and interesting for me. Because from her blog I met Sharon and now we're all interacting in strange and innovative ways. I thought that was the point of it...

But then again, to each his own....

Take care.

Oh no no no, Purple... there are several people who comment on here that actually post, you know, real comments... but if you go through a lot of the comments you'll see some from random people that are eerily similar, like they read somewhere, "Go to other blogs and tell them you like their writing style... they might come read yours and say the same." Unlike comments from you, toppogigio, Robin, and some others, where you guys actually... you know... COMMENT, these rubber-stamper-like-folks make me think of being a party and having random people walk up to me, say "I like your shirt," before turning and walking off.

Yeah, I can't capture the feeling, but I hope that puts you in the right direction... and I do appreciate the real commenting, and even occasionally get to go read what you guys are saying!

Oh, I guess you mean like this:

"You write very well. I love your blog. Read MY blog it will enhance your spirituality and change your life -

;-)

Hello 'EyeRytStuff'..
Um, I too am gonna talk about what the Purple Cow said, on what what you told about 'rubberstamp' comments.

What you said is true, many people actually do it just to increase readership. But nevertheless, there are always going to be a small fraction of the 'commentators' who have actually read your blog, and liked it. Worst part is, you are never going to be able to tell who's who.

But I don't really think that holding contempt for every stranger who comments is the right way to go. Most good bloggers, very popular and sought-for ones, reply to every comment they get. And tell, 'yes, I'll read your blog.' - if they will read it really is another story.

So lets just face it - given you are a quite popular blogger, there are always gonna be 'strangers in the party who like your shirt', so good if you can just smile at them. :)

Regards.
